How To Start A WordPress Blog On BlueHost From Scratch

Today, you will learn all about easily creating a blog on your own and how to start a WordPress blog. Blogging is what changed my life and allowed me to make thousands of dollars a month, all by doing something that I love. Plus, you can start a money-making blog for just a few dollars a month! Below, I have included discounted pricing that I personally negotiated with Bluehost so that all of you can start a blog for cheap. You will also receive a free blog domain through my link too. Act quick though because I’m not sure how long these low prices will last!

Disclosure: I am an affiliate for Bluehost, and will receive a commission if you sign up through my referral link. This is at no additional cost to you, and you will get great pricing and a free domain name through my link.

Click here to start a blog on WordPress, then use the tutorial below for the easy directions.

If you’re looking to start a WordPress blog for cheap, then choosing Bluehost for your hosting needs may be your answer. Bluehost is a great web host and I personally have had a great experience with them.

Blogging has been one of the best things ever for me. I now make over $100,000 a month from my blogging-related services. I earned over $979,000 in 2017 through blogging, over $1,500,000 in 2018, and over $1,600,000 in 2019.

I am able to work from home, I can travel whenever I want, I have a flexible schedule and more. I am absolutely loving life and I can’t believe how much my life has improved in just the past few years.

Anyone can make money with a blog, and I was able to make the money back that I paid for blog hosting very quickly. It is well worth it to pay for blog hosting and I’m sure you will be able to make your money back quickly as well.

Bluehost is one of the top web hosting companies in 2020 and you can start your own blog with them for as low as $2.75 a month (this low price is through my link only)! Also, if you sign up using my link, then you will get your domain for free if you purchase a 12 month or longer hosting plan (a $15 value). I highly recommend signing up for the 12 month hosting plan through Bluehost. It’s affordable and you can save a lot of money by signing up for at least 12 months. If you want a better deal, the best value would be purchasing a 36 month plan, as your monthly rate is much lower over the long run.

You may be thinking, “Well I can just start on Blogger for a little cheaper and learn how to make a blog that way” NOOOOO… Don’t do that. There are so many reasons for why a Blogger/Blogspot blog is a really bad idea, and why you should instead setup a WordPress blog on Bluehost.

If you are interested in ever making money off your blog, freelancing or turning it into a business, then paying for your hosting, such as through Bluehost, is a MUST. It’s extremely cheap as well to go through Bluehost AND you get a free domain (for the first year). You can run any of your own advertisements, affiliate links, direct advertising, etc. with a blog ran on Bluehost. Making money on Blogger or any other free blogging platform is very difficult, and in many cases never happens. Most advertisers and companies tend to run away from Blogger websites because they don’t view them as professional as self-hosted WordPress blogs, so that’s another big reason to use Bluehost.

There are many reasons for why you may want to choose Bluehost for your WordPress blog and I honestly believe they are one of the best web hosting providers. These reasons include:

  • It’s easy to use. Yes, ANYONE can create a WordPress blog easily with my tutorial below. Bluehost makes it very easy to create a WordPress blog.
  • Bluehost web hosting offers technical support.
  • Bluehost is extremely affordable and they offer cheap web hosting. You can have a blog of your own and the only real expense you need to pay is the cheap blog hosting which starts at just $2.75 per month.
  • You get a FREE blog domain.
  • WordPress through Bluehost is FREE.
  • Bluehost offers a guarantee in case you determine that it is not for you. If you sign up for Bluehost, but you are confused for any reason (such as how to set it up, picking a plan, pricing, etc.), you can always send me an email and I can help you out.
  • You will be self-hosted. If you want to monetize your blog, then you will want to be self-hosted.
  • You will appear much more professional to readers, companies, and so on if you are self-hosted on Bluehost than being on Blogspot.

First, you will need to head on over to Bluehost to do any of this. There are many web hosting companies out there, but Bluehost is honestly one of the best. There is a reason why many bloggers choose Bluehost for their web hosting needs.

If you plan on starting a blog on Bluehost and you are interested in learning how to start a blog on WordPress, continue below. Remember, if you sign up for Bluehost, but you are confused for any reason (such as how to set it up, picking a plan, pricing, etc.), you can always send me an email and I can help you out. That’s what I’m here for so don’t be afraid to send me an email.

How to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost

1. Register your domain name :

You can click here to purchase a domain name and create a blog, then continue to follow the easy steps below.

The very first thing you will need to do when starting a WordPress blog on Bluehost is to think about what you want your domain name to be. This can be tough, and I would give some serious thought to this.

You can get your domain directly through Bluehost and make the whole process very easy. If you do this, you can get a FREE domain for the first year as long as you buy 12 months worth of Bluehost web hosting. This makes it well worth it to sign up for at least 12 months of hosting as you will be saving a good amount of money this way. You also get a cheaper monthly price when you buy at least 12 months of hosting, so the free domain just makes it even better. If you want an even better deal, the best value would be purchasing a 36 month plan, as your monthly rate is much lower over the long run. If you decide to get the free domain, just continue to the next step as you can buy your hosting and get the free domain all in one step.

The “Basic” package is most likely all you will need.

2. Buy hosting for your blog :

Setting up a WordPress blog on Bluehost is very easy. First, we will talk about the costs of blogging:

  • To receive the cheapest price to start a blog, then choosing the “Basic” plan is really all you need. It’s only $2.75 per month through my link (due upfront in full) if you sign up for 36 months, which is a great price. If you sign up for a 24 month plan, then the price is $3.95 per month. If you sign up for a 12 month plan, then the price is $4.95 per month. $4.95 is still extremely affordable and it’s a great plan to choose (especially since you get a free domain at this price still!). If you are unsure about blogging, I would sign up for the 12 month plan as this is still a great price and very affordable for one year of blogging. If you purchase a 12 month plan, your total price is only $59 a year, which is still a great price. Plus, you still receive the free domain name when you sign up for 12 months or more which saves you money. The best value would be purchasing a 36 month plan, as your monthly rate is much lower over the long run.
  • The Basic plan is all you really need for now, so skip the Plus and Business Pro plans as they are more expensive. You can always change it later to a different plan if you want to (and just pay the difference), so there is no need to sign up for extra that you do not need.
  • The other item you may want to pay for when it comes to blogging is Domain Privacy Protection, which is only $0.99 per month. This is so that your contact information stays safe.
  • Other than the above, you do not need the other items that Bluehost sells, so I would uncheck any of the extras that are listed.
  • Remember, if you sign up using my link, then you will get your domain for free if you purchase a 12 month or longer blog hosting plan.

I want to reiterate why you should purchase at least a 12 month hosting plan. Month-to-month is less effective, and I highly recommend signing up for a minimum of 12 months for many reasons. By signing up for a minimum of 12 months, you will receive a free domain name, lower pricing, and you won’t have to deal with an expired website after each month. For example, if hosting is not renewed or if the card expires, then your website is down and you risk losing business (visitors/traffic) when you pay on a month-to-month basis. It’s also exceptionally more expensive to pay month-by-month rather than in one lump sum. The more years you sign up for, the less you pay.

Blog hosting will most likely cost you around $59 a year on average, or $99 for 3 years, which is a great deal! If you purchase a 12 month plan, your total price is only $59 a year, which is a great price. The best value would be purchasing a 36 month plan, as your monthly rate is much lower over the long run.

When you are ready to create your blog, follow the steps below to buy hosting for your blog.

  1. Go to Bluehost and click the “Get Started Now” button.
  2. Click on the package you are interested in.
  3. Enter your domain name you registered with earlier, or sign up for a new domain name here.
  4. Enter your personal and payment information.
  5. Next you will be asked to enter a password. Make sure it’s secure as this information is very important.

If you face any problems, please send me an email at care@thetechnogalaxy.com. I have a great person at Bluehost who can help solve any of your issues quickly and easily!

3. Connect your domain and your hosting :

Note: You can skip this section (Section 3) if you buy your domain directly through Bluehost.

If you buy your domain through Go Daddy, then you will need to connect your domain to your hosting account. Go Daddy has a full support page for setting nameservers for your domain names. Below is a snippet:

“When you register a domain name with us, we set it up on our parked nameservers so a temporary page displays when visitors go to your website. After you determine which hosting provider to use, you can change your domain name’s nameservers to remove the parked page and activate your domain name.

If you registered your domain name with another provider, you can still purchase a hosting account with us, use our Off-site DNS services, or use our CashParking® or Quick Content services. If you do any of those, you must view your nameservers in your account with us, and then set the nameservers with your domain name registrar.”

How to modify your DNS Nameservers when you are using Go Daddy for your domain and Bluehost for your hosting:

  1. Log into the GoDaddy.com Account Manager.
  2. Select Manage Domains from the Domain Names drop-down menu or the Manage Your Account list.
  3. Select the domain name you wish to modify using the checkboxes and then click Set Name Servers.
  4. Enter your updated name server information in the spaces provided under the blue Name Servers heading on the right side of your page and click Save Changes at the bottom. Your entries should look like this: ns1.bluehost.com; ns2.bluehost.com.

You will then need to add the domain you bought (such as through GoDaddy) as an addon domain to your Bluehost web hosting. You can do this by clicking on “Domains” when logged into your Bluehost web hosting account and then clicking on “assign.” Follow the steps and it is very easy!

 4. Install WordPress on Bluehost :

Okay, this is probably the step that all of you have been waiting for. If you want to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost then continue reading.

This part isn’t hard at all. Bluehost makes it very easy to create a WordPress blog and it is FREE.

  • After you create your password, Bluehost guides you through exactly what you need to do in order to start a blog.
  • First, Bluehost will ask you to pick a theme. You can just pick a random one here or find one that you actually like. You can change it later so it’s not a big deal or just scroll to the bottom and skip this step. Remember, there are many free ones too!
  • Click on “Start Building”
  • On the next screen, you can choose “Business” or “Personal” – it’s up to you. Or, you can click the “I don’t need help.”

WOOHOO! You now have a WordPress blog. You will have to work on the design and producing high-quality content, of course. Good luck!

If you sign up for Bluehost, but you are confused for any reason (such as how to set it up, picking a plan, pricing, etc.), you can always send me an email and I can help you out. That’s what I’m here for so don’t be afraid to send me an email at care@thetechnogalaxy.com.

Some general tips for how to navigate WordPress:

  • You can add and create new posts by clicking on “Posts” on the left-hand side when you are logged in.
  • If you want to add an image, click on “Media” on the left-hand side.
  • You can go to “Appearance,” then “Widgets” in order to add items to your sidebar, footer, and so on.
  • If you are looking into the actual design of your blog, there are several free and amazing themes through WordPress which you can use and you don't need to invest on the paid themes if you don't want to. Just go to “Appearance” on the left-hand side when you are logged into your WordPress website and click on “Themes,” then activate whichever one you are interested in testing out. By doing this, you can start designing your website easily!

Do you have a blog? Do you use Bluehost for blogging? Share your blogging mistakes as well! Hope you enjoyed my tutorial on how to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost. :)

Advantages Of Cloud Computing Services

Advantages Of Cloud Computing Services

You have great ideas to streamline your business and to drive sales through the roof but the problem is, to get there, your ideas leaving business apps and business apps have always been too expensive especially in times like these behind each one is a world of complexity where they require a data center with office space, power, cooling, bandwidth, networks, servers and storage, a complicated software staff and also a team of experts to install, configure and run them...

Now let's meet development, testing, staging, production and fail-over environments and when an issue arises, good luck you call technical support and they don't even know so they would blame someone else and when new versions come out you would upgrade to that but that might bring the whole system down...

Now this is just for one app, so imagine when you multiply these headaches across dozens or hundreds of apps you can pretty easily get the idea that, why the big companies with their best IT departments aren't getting the apps which they require...

Small businesses here don't even have a chance...

Cloud computing is a far better way to run your business because instead of running your apps yourself, they run on a shared data center so you would just plug in like a utility...

This really makes it fast to get started and it cost less...

It's somewhat like Gmail compared to Microsoft Exchange & we would be explaining why we are saying so...

With Gmail, do you need any servers and storage ? No...

Do you need any technical team to keep it up and running ? No...

Do you need to do upgrades ? No..

When you decide to use any app that runs in the cloud, you would just log in, customize it, and start using it ; that's the power of cloud computing services..

This cloud computing model is so much better that, it's changing the way we think about software, not just for consumer apps but it's also being used for business apps which we call an Enterprise Cloud Computing...

Today businesses are running all kinds of apps in the cloud, including several custom-built apps..Why ? Because you can up and running in just a few days which is unheard of with traditional business software..

Cloud computing services also cost less because you don't need to pay for all the people, products and facilities to run them and it always turns out that they're much more scalable, more secure and they're also way more reliable than the vast majority of apps out there..

Here's why..Cloud computing is based on an architecture which is called multi-tenancy...With a multi-tenant app, there is no need for a copy of the app for each business that's using it..It's just one app that everyone would share but it's also flexible enough for everyone to customize for their specific needs..

It's kind of like a giant office building where everyone shares the same infrastructure and services like security...And if each business can customize their own office bits, this means apps are elastic and they can scale up to tens of thousands of users or down
only with a few...

Advantages of cloud computing services are that, here upgrades are also taken care of for you, so your apps will continue getting security and performance enhancements and new features automatically..

Now the way you would pay for cloud apps is also different..Forget about buying all these servers and software because your ads will run in the cloud so you don't buy anything at all...

In cloud computing, it's all rolled up into a monthly subscription so you would only pay for what you use...

Finally cloud apps won't eat up your valuable IT resources so your CFO/CTO will love it and you can focus more on projects that really impact your business like deploying more apps...

Cloud computing is a very simple idea but it can still have a huge impact on your business...

How To Effectively Boost Your Laptop's Battery Life

How To Effectively Boost Your Laptop's Battery Life

You're working on something important and out of nowhere comes the Low battery notification...Happened several times with you right ??

You speed up, and….......boy the screen goes black..You didn't finish your work and can only hope it saved the progress...Sounds like you could use some ways to make your laptop battery to last longer!

Well, here I'd be suggesting you to try these methods which should effectively boost your laptop's battery life and will also speed up your laptop...

1. Play with the power settings : This is likely what you’ll try first, so let’s get the obvious out of the way...You can enable the Energy Saver (in Mac) or Power Saver (in Windows) mode in your settings...

It will let you choose when the display will go off whenever you’re inactive. The sooner it happens, the more battery you'll save...

2. Dim the lights : Your laptop screen, or rather its back-light, is one of the hungriest energy eaters in your laptop...Dim the screen brightness to win an extra 30 minutes of productivity a day.You can usually do it easily using one of the F keys located at the top left of your laptop keyboard...You can adjust it to the dimmest you can go without straining your eyes...

3. Change the wallpaper background : Your laptop wallpaper's vibrancy comes at a cost, and that cost is your battery...Opt for something darker, it could even be a solid color screen. For the same reasons, try to get rid of the screensaver if you are using any..

4. Turn off your computer before you go to bed : Just slamming your laptop closed isn't enough...When you fully turn it off, it clears applications and any extra info it stocked up throughout the day...

5. Opt for Hibernate instead of Sleep : If you’re choosing between the two, opt for hibernation mode...When your laptop is in sleep mode, it’s still actively using its memory and draining the battery...

6. Clear the junk : When you free up your hard disk drive, you’re making the whole system much more productive...The fuller the hard drive is, the slower your laptop is and the shorter your battery life will be...

Make it a habit to get rid of the junk and caches every now and then...

7. Disable the Spotlight search : It helps you find whatever you need in seconds, but to stay that great, it’s constantly updating & refreshing its search index in the background...

If you don’t need to use it all the time, you can easily deactivate it in System Preferences to save some battery life and turn it back on whenever you want...

8. Keep your laptop cool : When it's too hot or too cold, your laptop can’t work as efficiently, so it wastes energy. It does better in cooler air than the hot air...

As for the heat, your laptop always needs access to fresh air through the vents. If you’re holding it on your lap while working in bed, you’re blocking that cooling air which your laptop needs...

And also don’t leave it in the car on a hot day, in direct sunlight in the room, or near heaters.

9. Use the incognito mode of your browser : When you're browsing the Internet as yourself, you get a lot of auto-fill suggestions so that you don't have to type in your username and password for every site...

But this function uses extra energy, so going incognito or using a private browser window can help you save up some of it...

10. Don’t keep your laptop plugged in all the time : Any laptop can handle a certain number of charge cycles in its lifetime, typically around 500...

A cycle is completed when you go from 0 to 100% charge...When you go from 50% to 100, it counts as a half cycle...The more cycles your battery will go through, the less efficient it will become....

The best you can do is, to keep it somewhere between 50 and 80%...You can, for example, charge it in the morning and then unplug it for the rest of your day...

11. Plug the laptop in before it goes off : It might sound like the opposite of the previous suggestion, but it only means you shouldn’t let the battery drain completely...

Plug your laptop in when it has at least 20% charge to avoid extra strain on the laptop battery...

By the way, if you are one of those people who mostly keep the laptop plugged in, or do you wait till the last moment to charge it?

Let me know in the comments down below, along with any other of these no-no’s you’re guilty of!

12. Unplug any unused peripherals : USB sticks, external hard drive, webcam, wireless mouse, external keyboard, and all other peripherals are all powered by your motherboard...

Even when you aren’t using them, they keep on consuming precious energy. So unplug them, and also mute the speakers when you aren’t listening to music...

And also turn off that keyboard back-light if you have it...

13. Switch off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth : These two are constantly looking for connection opportunities and this curiosity costs you a good deal of battery life.If you don't need connectivity at some moment, just deactivate both of them...

14. Shut down the bigger power-eater apps : Check which apps always run in the background and consume the most battery power, even when you aren’t using them.

You can do it in the Users Groups and Login Items tab of your Mac...

On a Windows laptop, you can type "see which apps are affecting your battery life" into the Windows search bar located right next to your Windows Start button...See if you really need them at all and if not, remove them...

15. Disable auto app updates : Change your settings to leave all the updates for when you're plugged in...Larger apps will always have heavy updates, and installing them while running on battery will eat a huge chunk of it...

16. Turn off the notifications : Your email and your social networking apps love your attention, and they use notifications to grab it...

Even when you don’t have them open, your laptop is constantly refreshing data in the background to keep you updated...You can change that in the settings and save some extra battery life for more important things...

17. Keep your Operating System up-to-date : Updates are designed to make your laptop more productive...The patches your OS makers include can fix bugs that were the real battery drainers...Whenever you’re plugged into a power outlet, try to update your system if there’s a chance...

18. Focus on one thing at a time : When you have 20 tabs and cloud storage open, you’re editing photos, listening to music, and also running some more programs simultaneously, your laptop is really struggling...

Its RAM (or random access memory) can't handle it, so it calls upon the hard disk for some help... And that’s a big power drainer...

Enable the airplane mode...
It cuts off all the wireless connections as well as stops background apps and processes...

19. Upgrade HDD to an SSD : A solid-state drive runs on flash memory that takes much less battery to function than a normal hard disk drive...Plus, it also makes your laptop faster – you'll use less time and battery doing your regular things compared to a computer running on HDD...It's a Win-win!

20. Disable unwanted graphics : Make sure only games and apps that really need high graphics, like photo and video editing apps, can use a powerful graphics processor...You can disable graphics accelerators in energy-saving settings...

21. Keep the laptop clean : Remember that your laptop needs access to fresh circulating air? Well, try to keep those fans clean and dust-free...

When they’re blocked, your laptop heats up in no time, and that becomes a real problem for the battery...

22. Use the original power adapter : Even a small mismatch in wattage can overload and damage both the laptop and the battery...

So always go for the original adapter or pick the replacement carefully...Check if all the specifications are correct to avoid issues...

23. Monitor your battery’s health and replace when needed : No battery is designed to last forever, and you can check how long yours is still good for...

You can find information related to your battery in the Power tab of the System Information app on your Mac...If it shows “Replace Now” or “Service Battery” notification, then it is a call for action...

You can also do it on a Windows laptop in the Command Prompt window...Just open a Command prompt or CMD window with Admin rights & type in, "powercfg /batteryreport" without the quotes & press enter...A battery life report will be instantly saved in C:\Windows\system32\battery-report.html.

24. Carry a backup battery : An external battery pack will be your guarantee that you won’t lose any important data or get stuck without a laptop when you need it...

Some laptops have removable batteries or let you add a second one...For other laptops, you can just buy a universal laptop battery with a choice of connectors...

The external battery can feed the intern alone or power up the laptop itself...

How To Destroy Your Expired or Blocked Credit and Debit Cards

How To Destroy Your Expired or Blocked Credit & Debit Cards

This doubt always comes to our mind whenever our credit or debit cards get expired or we need to block them because of unauthorized transactions took place on them…

So, here I will be keeping this short & simple on how to effectively & properly destroy your Credit/Debit card to avoid any misuse/fraud on your card after you dispose it…

1) If you are using a Metallic card , your best bet would be to send the card back to your card issuer or to your bank & let them destroy it because metallic cards would be extremely tough to destroy…

Your card’s back side will contain the support number of your card issuer/bank…Call them and let them know that you want to destroy your metallic card & they will take care of the rest…

2) If you are using the most common Plastic cards, I would NOT suggest burning the credit card…Yes burning credit card will destroy it, but it will also come with its own health hazards which can hamper your health because when you burn any plastic it releases several harmful toxins which is never good for your health…

But if you still want to burn it, burn it in such a way that you don’t stay in close proximity during the burning process…

3) Demagnetize the strip of your card : Your card’s back side contains a Magnetic strip which contains some of your sensitive account details such as your name, account number, card’s maximum limit etc…

You won’t want that to be disclosed to unauthorized people ; so what you will need to do is, grab a piece of magnet (even a small one will do just fine) & run it through the entire magnetic stripe for like 5 minutes which will render the swiping capability of the card useless…

Back side of card containing the Magnetic Strip

4) Now after you deactivated the magnetic stripe, grab a pair of scissors & cut the card into as many small pieces as you can so that it can never be put back together in case someone finds all the pieces…You can cut the card in both horizontally or vertically as per your wish…

When you are cutting the card, make sure that your CVV or the 3 digit security code which remains at the back of your card can’t be read or put back together…

Also make sure to cut the magnetic strip on the back of your card because that contains your signature…

If you are using a newer EMV chip & pin based card, there will be a Gold or Silver colored chip on the front of your card at the left hand side like shown in the first image of this post…You can cut the chip with scissors or just smash it with the help of a hammer….

Once you are done with the cutting & smashing, make sure that the pieces can never be put back together…

5) If you have any old card statement/s for the same card you are trying to get rid of, you can burn the statement/s after destroying your card as burning a paper won’t be harmful for your health…

6) Lastly, it may sound kinda weird but it always better to throw the broken pieces of your card in different garbage bins so that even the smartest thief can’t find all the pieces together…

7) If you don’t want to go through any of the above steps (though I highly suggest that you do), just keep the card in a secured place in your home like in a closet or something to keep it protected from invaders…

If you are trying to get rid of a card which is soon to be expired, I would suggest you to wait till the credit card expiry date and then dispose it after you get the new replaced/renewed card...

How to Know the Specifications of Computer Without Opening It

How to Know the Specifications of Computer Without Opening It

In my life, I have known several people who use Microsoft Windows operating systems which they either bought as a branded machine or got them assembled by someone who knows how to do it but later they are unable to find a way to know actually what is their system specification and what are the hardware parts installed in their machine…

For people like us, who use a desktop or laptop for either work or personal purposes or for both, it’s very essential for us to know the most vital hardware parts (like for example, Processor, Ram, Graphic Card/s, Sound device, Motherboard etc) installed in our computers so that in case any of the hardware parts fail, we know exactly what part we need to replace or place an RMA request for to get that repaired…

This little guide will come handy for those of you who are using a Windows desktop or laptop & want to know the specifications & the model of your laptop or desktop without going through all the hassles of opening it...

Meet Windows inbuilt DirectX Diagnostic Tool :

Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces (APIs) for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms. And this tool/API comes included with your Windows operating system so you won't have to download any other 3rd party tool to know your system specs...

To run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, just type "dxdiag" in your Windows search bar located right next to your Windows Start menu & press enter...

2 Ways Of How To Fix Water Damaged iPhone

2 Ways Of How To Fix Water Damaged iPhone
Water can be deadly for electronic items...I think many of us who have used or still using an iPhone faced this problem atleast once when we accidentally dropped our iPhone in the pool or water & then be like, Holy shit! It’s gone!

Now-a-days most high-end phones are coming with IP water & dust resistant ratings so the occurrences of getting a phone totally damaged  due to liquid damage have become considerably lower now…

In case of iPhones are concerned, they are given an IP ratings of IP67 and IPX7 & this includes the whole lot of iPhones starting from iPhone 7…iPhone 6 or the below versions don’t have any IP ratings though so if you are one of those people who are still using an iPhone 5 or iPhone 6 variants, your devices don’t have any IP rating sadly…

Water-Resistant vs Water-Proof

We also must understand that, a phone being “Water Resistant” does NOT mean that it’s also “Water-Proof”…These two are different technical jargons used by the manufacturers which might sound identical but in reality they are not the same…

IP67 and IPX7 mean, that your devices are fully protected against dust that can harm the internals, and your phone can survive after being submerged for 30 minutes in up-to 3 ft of water…

Manufacturers can claim that their smartphones are water-resistant to a certain extent but no smartphone manufacturer will ever be able to claim that, their smartphones are 100% waterproof because that ain’t possible because water will eventually find a way to get into it & we will instantly assume that, we lost our precious iPhone in the watery grave…

You Can Check for Water Damage

Do you know or aware about your iPhone water damage indicator ? Yes you can check iPhone for water damage...

There is an water damage iPhone indicator built right in the SIM slot…It’s a piece of plastic which changes it’s color from white to red if it detects that your device got too much water into it…

Try to peek into the SIM slot if you can see the color of the indicator…If you can’t see any red there, you might be eligible to claim the warranty but then again, there can be a water damage to other components of the phone which may very well remain undetected…

Even if you find the indicator as red, still try to turn your iPhone on after like couple of days to check if it’s showing any sign of life in it…

So, The Question is, Can Water Damage Be Repaired ?? And Can You Fix Water Damage Accidentally Done To your iPhone ??

Yes you can still try to resurrect your water damage iPhone.Continue to read on to know how…

How To Remove Water From iPhone

1) Dry Your iPhone Manually :

Before you try the other methods, first take out your iPhone from the liquid & try to dry it as much as you can.

Follow these below steps for reference…

  • As soon as you realize, that you have knowingly (or unknowingly) submerged your iPhone in water, immediately take it out from there…Duh ?
  • Turn the device Off & REFRAIN FROM USING IT…It's very important...
  • If you are using a phone case/back cover etc, remove that from your phone…
  • Pull the SIM card out…
  • Shake the device or try to suck out as much water as you can…
  • Wipe your phone clean with a clean & soft cloth…
  • Now let your phone dry & wait patiently…The longer you can wait, the better…If you can wait for 2-3 days, do that…

If the above method works, then great otherwise follow the next method...

2) Silica Gel Method :

  • Get some silica gel, whole lot of it…They are cheap & easily available...
  • Take a container or box which should be air-tight when it’s closed…
  • Now fill the bottom of the container with the silica gel packets…
  • Place your iPhone above the bottom layer of the silica gel you just made…
  • Now put all the remaining silica gel above your iPhone so that your iPhone gets totally covered by silica gel from bottom to top…
  • Now close the container tightly, keep your fingers crossed & open the box after 2 days to see if your phone comes back to life…The silica gel might absorb the water out of your iPhone if you are lucky enough…

Note : You can try the above Silica method with Rice also…If you want to use rice, follow the same procedure above & instead of filling the container with silica, do it with rice…

The Rice method may not be that much effective so try the first two methods first…

If any of these methods don’t work, then it’s time to take your phone out to an Apple service center (you can just type in Google "iPhone water damage repair near me" to find your nearest Apple repair centers) but be reminded, if you have not purchased an AppleCare+ plan then your iPhone water damage repair cost can literally run into hundreds of dollars depending on your specific model, because Apple does not cover water or any liquid damage under its standard warranty…

So if your iPhone becomes damaged due to a liquid damage, you can’t claim any warranty unless you got an AppleCare+ protection plan…
